The Museum of Islamic Art in Berlin was established in 1904 on the initiative of the art historian Wilhelm von Bode. Its rare artifacts are testimony to the flourishing of art, creativity and thought styles within the Islamic civilization.
It houses nearly 90,000 Islamic objects, making it the largest museum dedicated to Islamic art in #Europe. Among its main attractions are the monumental Mshatta façade of an Umayyad palace, Qur’an copies, oriental carpets, and artifacts from Iraq, Turkey, Iran and Andalusia.
