The Louvre museum in the French capital #Paris has an Islamic art wing that was established in 1905. It houses 17,500 precious artifacts dating from the 7th to the 19th centuries AD and forming nearly half of the artifacts on display.
The wing holds a variety of treasures from an area stretching from Europe to India, such as textiles, precious stones and miniatures, as well as a collection of manuscripts and Qur’ans, in a bid to improve knowledge of Islam in the West through art.
