Al-Ghazali describes extremists in religion as: “If those who oppose our opinion are rewarded as stated in the Hadith, then why do we slander, embarrass and suffocate them? The problem the solution to which is sought among the learned is that of a group of people who view the truth as exclusively theirs and who view others as deficient and licentious. The reality is that their psychological illnesses dominates their behaviour, and they, in the name of religion, express their concealed deficiencies. When they engage in fatwa, they are butchers seeking a victim!!”
