Ibn al-Qayyim commented on the guidance of Islam concerning kindness in matters of religion and the world: “He who is kind to Allah’s servants, Allah is kind to him, and whosoever is merciful to them, He shows them mercy, and whosoever does good to them, Allah does good by them, and whosoever is difficult toward them, Allah is difficult toward them, and whosoever benefits them, Allah benefits them, and whosoever conceals their faults, Allah conceals theirs, and whosoever prevents them from good, Allah prevents them from good, and whosoever interacts with them with certain attributes, Allah treats them with those attributes in this world and the next. Allah is to His servant as His servant is to His creation. (Al-Wabil al-Sayyib)
