OIC Condemns Murder of Police Officer in Bahrain

The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Dr. Yousef A. Al-Othaimeen condemned the criminal killing of an officer from Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior while performing his duty in preserving the security of his country and its people. Initial investigations indicate that it was an organized terrorist act. Al-Othaimeen expressed the OIC solidarity with the Kingdom of Bahrain, rejection of interference in its internal affairs, and support to its security and stability. The Secretary Generaloffered condolences to the family of the victim, Bahrain’s Minister of Interior, and the Ministry personnel. The Secretary General also expressed his confidence that the Bahraini security authorities are fully capable of pursuing the perpetrators of this cowardly terrorist act and whoever is behind it, and bringing them to justice.

Dr. Al-Othaimeen further reiterated the OIC principled and firm position that vigorously denounces terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, and the OIC commitment to the continued cooperation and coordination with the kingdom of Bahrain, all member states, and all OIC organs and institutions in order to fight terrorism within the framework of the OIC resolutions in this regard.
