The Prophet (PBUH) said “Whoever points a weapon toward his brother, the angels curse him, even if it his blood brother or cousin.” Narrated by Muslim. Imam al-Qurtubi comments on this hadith, “The Prophet’s (PBUH) curse of those who pointed with their weapons is evidence of its prohibition, whether in earnest or jokingly. The curse on those who do so intentionally is evident because he seeks to kill or harm a Muslim, both of which are major sins. As for doing so jokingly, it intimidates Muslims which is prohibited because it is a path that leads to harm and death.” (Ahkam Al-Quran)
