Shaykh al-Basheer al-Ibrahimi says in his commentary on the verse, “And if they incline to peace, then incline to it” (Anfal: 61) He said: “Due to Islam’s emphasis on peace, the verse if a peremptory to employ all means necessary to achieve peace so that Muslims are not superseded to virtue.”” (Collection of al-Bashir al-Ibrahimi, 5/92)
