Sheik bin Bayyah said explaining the true meaning of Jihad: “As for the jihad when it relates to fighting, that is in defense of the freedom to practice one’s faith, as is stated in the verse: “Those who have been driven unjustly from their homes only for saying, ‘Our Lord is God’” (Qur’an, 22:40). As a rule, the state of relations between Muslims and people of other faiths and persuasions is one of peace.
